So it would seem that camouflage is back this year with the look hitting the high street in a big way. Whether it be camo jackets, dresses, skirts, shirts or trousers, the camo trend is definitely back on the map.
That said, I am not sure it was ever entirely ‘off the map’ as has been around for as long as I can remember, with Hip-Hop style getting hold of it in the 90’s and not letting go since.
Men and women alike have adorned the sexy military inspired look for years in one form or another, so it’s safe to say the never ‘off trend’ camo print is a worthwhile investment.
Camouflage isn’t just reserved for the youngsters either. It can look great and surprisingly chic at any age depending on how you wear it. A pair of skinny camo jeans or trousers can look great with neutral classics such as white or black. The key to this trend is to let the print itself do the talking and keep the rest of the outfit simple.
I fell in love with these distressed camo jeans when I bought them from a department store in the South of France. They are super comfy to wear and make a nice change from my normal variety of denim skinny jeans. What’s more they are perfect for wearing casually in the day or dressed up for a night out.
Wanting to make the most of the last warm days of summer, we took the children to Ashdown Forest for a picnic a couple of days ago and to have some fun with our Phantom 3 drone which we have started to incorporate into our photography and videography.
We had so much fun making the video at the end of this post as a result! This was the perfect environment to wear my camo jeans for a casual daytime look with a loose white t-shirt and white plimsols to run around with the kids in.
It was also a great opportunity to get some photos of the children and I together. Trying to get a good family photo of all of us together is a bit of a challenge, as there’s normally a fair bit of goofing around and particularly as my soon to be ten year old son is somewhat camera ‘resistant’, but try we do!
Night Time Look
If looking to glam up camo jeans for an evening out, heels are the only way to go! I wore mine with a pair of nude heels and a fitted white shirt for a more dressy look but I can also see them looking great with a black polo neck and black fitted ankle boots as autumn/winter approaches or with a tailored jacket. Either way, I know they’ll be getting a fair amount of wear in the future! For similar jeans try: Boohoo Camouflage Jeans
