How to Create a Transitional Wardrobe

Today marks the last day of February and tomorrow March officially begins and brings with it the start of my favourite season, Spring. Despite the icy winds that seem to hit you every time you step outside the door in the UK right now, when the sun is out, there is definitely some warmth there, the days are getting longer and the daffodils are out. So what does this mean for your wardrobe?

This is a great time of year for fashion, with lots of beautiful lightweight pieces with pops of colour hitting the high street in anticipation of the warmer weather to come. However, in this transitional period when we are starting to feel like we can shake off winter but it’s not yet warm enough to don our sandals and bare our legs because mother nature is yet to catch up with the fashion industry(!), what do we wear in the in-between?

If you are feeling ready to inject some freshness into your wardrobe, then its worth investing in some key pieces that you can wear now but will also be great for the season ahead. The Custommade Jasmina jacket worn in this post is a perfect example of a great transitional jacket. Although its colours are light and fresh, it is also warm enough to be worn now, combined with a cashmere knit and skinny jeans, or with white jeans or trousers later in the season.

I love to wear beautiful soft knits and completely fell in love with this gorgeous two-tone jumper when I tried it on. It is lightweight, but also incredibly cosy and again a great transitional piece, as blends the warmth of the navy with the freshness of the contrasting cream back, perfectly. A truly versatile piece!

The key to your transitional wardrobe from Winter to Spring, is to start injecting fresh colour pieces into your current winter wardrobe that will still keep you warm when worn with knitwear, jeans and boots when it’s cold outside but that you can also team with more lightweight garments as the season warms up as with the Jasmina jacket and Dien jumper in this post.

The Jasmina jacket and Dien jumper are both by brand Custommade and are in stock now at Bod & Ted both in store or online as are the Nobody Denim Cult Skinny Jeans in Base worn in this post.
