The Perfect Summer Trousers

Although we seem to be permanently bowing in and out of summer here in the UK at the moment, I knew that there was little chance of rain when I visited Marrakech recently and with the temperature forecast set to ‘scorchio’ I had to plan carefully what I was going to pack in the suitcase. Because I was in Marrakech to photograph a post wedding shoot, I needed a pair of lightweight comfortable trousers that would keep me cool but would also be practical for the shoot. The good news is that these type of trousers are everywhere at the moment. Call them what you will ‘jogger pants’ or ‘tapered trousers’ (I call them my slouchy pants!) they are the perfect trouser for simply getting around when it’s warm. They also work for women of all ages, shapes and sizes.

I opted for these bold printed coral pink trousers with gorgeous tassle detail for the trip as brought with them their own Moroccan vibe so felt they were the perfect choice! The tapered trousers from Next come in a range of colours and patterns and so I am rather tempted to grab myself some navy ones too before the summer is out! When the weather is hot you don’t want to be wearing clothes that cling so the loose fit and elasticated waist of the these trousers really work for keeping you cool.  However, if I am going to wear something loose on the bottom half, I prefer to combine it with something fitted on the top half so you don’t end up looking completely shapeless when you head out the door. A fitted vest or t-shirt always works for me therefore!

I just call them my go-anywhere-do-anything pants 🙂 but yours are certainly far more spiffy than any pair I own, Sharron!! You look comfy and cool and casually stylish.
