Although I will often spend a bit more on a good foundation or moisturiser, I also love what’s on offer at the more budget end of beauty. With all the expense of Christmas still making us feel the pinch, it’s good to know you can still find fabulous quality products without breaking the bank. Here are a couple of products I love…
‘Smokey Eyes’ eyeshadow palette by Gosh
I LOVE this ‘smokey eyes’ eyeshadow palette by GOSH (02 Brown). I use the lighter three colours during the day but you can build up the look for a night out. It even has a little guide on how to wear each shade! I used to use ‘Teddy Bear’ by Clinique but this has to be a hands down winner as not only do you get a much bigger palette, it only costs £7.99! Available at Super Drug.
Mini Black Brush Set by Boots
This is a really handy and portable little brush set for your eye makeup and blusher. I use these brushes in conjunction with a few of my more expensive ones and they do the job perfectly well. They also come in this great little patent black pouch too which helps keep them cleaner and ensures you’re not rifling around in the bottom of your make-up bag for them! The good news is they only cost £5.00 too!
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick
I have been using my favourite Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick for a couple of years now. They have a wide range of colours but I use ‘Pink in the Afternoon’ as a great base for my Clinique Superbalm Moisturising Gloss. Available at all major chemists for only £5.00.
Dove Summer Glow Nourishing Lotion
I hate feeling washed out and pasty but simply don’t have the time or patience to apply fake tan and always wear a high factor suncream the minute there is a hint of sunshine! Instead I use Dove’s summer glow nourishing lotion to give me that hint of colour all year round. The lotion gradually builds up a gradual light tan without stickiness or a strong smell as you can often get with a lot of self tanners. I apply most days straight after a shower as I would a normal body lotion. Despite being fair skinned, I actually prefer the one for medium to dark skin as gives that bit of extra colour and still looks very natural. You can also get it with a soft shimmer if you fancy a bit of extra glam! Available at Boots for £4.99.
Just Pink Luxurious Body Butter by Next
This body butter is just lush! It has a light florally perfumed scent that makes it smell much more expensive than it is and the body butter is light and absorbs easily into the skin making it feel soft and nourished. It comes in a lovely pink and matt gold tub and is a complete bargain at only £3.00!
