Despite a tough summer juggling work, pregnancy and two active children (phew!) overall we had a pretty good year. Here are some of the things that happened in 2012….
- We nursed hangovers in January following a night of dinner and drinking at my hubby’s post Christmas party in London and stayed in a lovely West End hotel (I ended up staying an extra night by myself rather indulgently and attended a photography convention the same weekend!)
- We had hours of fun with the children in the snow, sledging down the hills of Calverly Gardens in Tunbridge Wells.
- I attended a 3 day photography course at the Hoxton Hotel in London.
- We spontaneously put our house on the market having seen a house we loved but took it back off a few weeks later because…
- We discovered we were having another baby!!
- Joshua learned to read and write, swim and ride a bike!
- Grace turned 3, had her first birthday party and started nursery.
- I photographed 8 beautiful weddings, countless portrait shoots and exhibited at 2 wedding fairs.
- Grace started ballet lessons and learned how to count to 20.
- We camped for 2 nights at Camp Bestival with the children and my brother and girlfriend and danced the night away to Cool and the Gang and the Happy Mondays.
- We went to London with the children during the Diamond Jubilee and escaped the main crowds by enjoying a trip on the London Eye from where we saw the red arrows do their fly by and Brett encountered a severe case of vertigo!
- Grace and I met the Royals…Edward and Sophie, The Count and Countess of Wessex.
- We spent a wonderful weekend in the Cotswolds for a friend’s 40th birthday party dressed up as a hippy chick and Clark Kent / Superman.
- The children and I saw the Olympic torch carried through the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells followed by a picnic in the park.
- We returned to London for a trip to the London Aquarium and to find my much loved eternity ring.
- Brett and I turned 40! We spent a weekend celebrating with friends with dinner and an overnight stay at the Brew House hotel in Tunbridge Wells whilst my lovely parents looked after the children.
- I baked my first proper cake with the children with the help of my good friend Vicky showing me the ropes!
- I went to the studio 26 times to photograph my bump from 15 weeks to baby…slideshow to follow soon..
- I started this blog.
- We attended countless children’s birthday parties and play dates.
- Joshua lost his first tooth, turned 6 and did us proud in the school fashion show!
- Mum and I had a lovely trip to the amazing Westfield Shopping Centre in Shepherds Bush where I chose my beautiful Tiffany bracelet birthday present.
- Brett and I celebrated 8 years of marriage.
- We waited for an hour at Penshurst Place the weekend before our baby was born so that Joshua and Grace could meet Santa.
- Our beautiful boy Jake Alexander was finally born…
- We celebrated our first Christmas with our 3 children and my parents.
- The year ended in a blur of sleepless nights, cuddles, chaos and laughter.
What a year! 🙂
