Choosing the correct secondary school is a massive decision for parents and children to make. Enrolling your child on an intensive 5-day 11+ Revision Course, conducted by established tutors from TN Tutors, should help during the holidays with vital preparation and confidence before September’s exams and may help them achieve that esteemed grammar school place.
The course will run at St Philip’s Church in Tunbridge Wells from 12 – 16 August 2013 and will cover all the key subject areas for the Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning Papers. The first four days include 3 hours of taught sessions in groups of only 6 pupils, and the fifth day includes authentic mock exams in exam conditions. Detailed individual feedback is sent within the week. The course also provides a comprehensive resource pack, along with time management skills and exam techniques. Daily feedback is also emailed to parents.
TN Tutors was established in 2011 by Becky Hunt and Rose Lee, both qualified and experienced primary school teachers. After both going on maternity leave and taking a break from classroom teaching, they independently started 1:1 tuition for both the 11+ and for general literacy and numeracy support, to fit in with their young families.
In 2010, Becky and Rose met at a local toddler group with their little ones and discovered that they had very similar backgrounds. Seeing a gap in the market and an increasing demand for 11+ tuition within the Tunbridge Wells area, they set up TN Tutors and decided to trial a summer revision course. Now in their third year, the summer course is going from strength to strength, with many bookings coming from word of mouth recommendations from past pupils/families. They are joined by Becky’s colleague Sarah Davies, who is also a qualified teacher and works in Hastings. Becky has now returned to classroom teaching three days a week, but continues to do some individual tutoring and the summer revision course.
